How to Replace Kitchen Cabinet Base Molding | Home Guides | SF Gate
Yup, we got a little trim. The basic game plan was to add some simple baseboard or molding to the bottom of our cabinets so they looked more like built-ins. Kitchen cabinet base molding runs around the base of the cabinets where they meet the floor. This part, also known as the toe-kick is often shimmed up off the floor to level the cabinet. This leaves a gap between the bottom of the cabinet and the floor. Base molding spans over it to complete the cabinet installation.
